Real-Time MRI Used to Create Music Video

I don't consider myself technologically savvy or even appropriately appreciative of notable technological advancements.  This unique music video, however, captured my attention.

Real-time MRI continuously films moving parts of the human anatomy giving researchers and medical providers an active anatomical picture of the human body.  Using this innovative technology, a musician named Sivu in partnership with physicians in London, created the first-ever real-time MRI music video.  In order to develop this one-of-a-kind masterpiece, Sivu had to lay in the MRI scanner while repeatedly singing his song for 2-3 hours.

Check out this amazing video depicting live the workings of the vocal system.

In future medical technology meets music news, University of Southern California researchers are also studying the science behind human beatboxing using real-time MRI.
