MMU: New Nurse Practitioner Residency Timeline

If you haven't yet heard of Midlevels for the Medically Underserved (MMU), the program is essentially MidlevelU's version of a nurse practitioner residency. MMU matches new grads and less experienced NPs with facilities serving medically underserved populations across the country. This fall, our inaugural MMU class members will each head off to to start practicing in their sites, from South Carolina to California and everywhere in between. If you're interested in the possibility of participating in Midlevels for the Medically Underserved, we've got good news for you.

Midlevels for the Medically Underserved welcomes nurse practitioners of all levels of experience. The program is especially designed with new grad NPs in mind. As a nurse practitioner myself, I experienced the frustration that comes along with jumping from clinical preceptorships into the responsibility of full-fledged practice. MMU gives nurse practitioners a more comfortable, calculated transition to practice - with a purpose!

Application season for MMU's 2017 class has officially begun. Here at MidlevelU HQ, we're been thrilled to have already received applications from nurse practitioners across the country. Given the number of NPs applying to MMU, and the variety of nurse practitioner program graduation dates, we've decided to add a second Midlevels for the Medically Underserved class in 2017. This way, whether you're an NP student graduating in December, May, or August, you can start MMU at a time most convenient for you. Here are the application timelines for 2017's two MMU residency classes.
