MidlevelU's Medical Pumpkin Carving Contest!

I'm not usually a huge Halloween person. For the most part, the holiday is simply an excuse for me to consume copious amounts of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. But, this year I am dressing up and embracing the spirit. As part of getting in the Halloween mood I planned to write a post today covering creative nursing-related jack-o'-lanterns. Unfortunately, Pinterest disappointed me (quite possibly for the first time ever) when it came to the medical pumpkin carving arena. Come on providers! Where's the creativity?

So, in an effort to remedy the lack of all-important inspiration when it comes to carving nursing and medical themed jack-o'-lanterns, I am officially declaring a MidlevelU Medical Pumpkin Carving Contest. Grab your fellow nurses, NPs, and anyone with an interest in healthcare and get carving!

Here are the rules:

1. To enter, submit a pic or two of your pumpkin to erin.tolbert@midlevelu.com by Thursday, October 30th. Bonus points if your photo includes you and your nursing colleagues. Gather your friends and coworkers and get creative!

2. Friendly trash-talking with other pumpkin carvers on the MyMidlevelU message board is highly encouraged.

3. Here at MidlevelU we have an appreciation for anatomy and welcome, nay, encourage anatomy-related designs. However, please refrain from disturbing submissions. If you wouldn't display your pumpkin at the nurses' station, we don't want to see it either.

4. We will announce the winner of the first (annual?!) MidlevelU Medical Pumpkin Carving Contest to the MidlevelU community on Friday, October 31st. The winner will receive a set of FIGS scrubs.

A few medical-themed jack-o'-lanterns to help spark your creativity...

Happy carving!
