What Percentage of NP Students Pass the Certification Exam? See Our NP Program Pass Rate List

After you complete your nurse practitioner degree program, in most states you will need to take a national certification exam before you are eligible to practice.  As we have mentioned in earlier posts, you should be thinking about this exam from the beginning of your nurse practitioner education as passing the exam is essential to your ability to be employed as a NP.  Which schools have the highest pass rates on the national certification exam?  We asked 200 schools for their national certification pass rates and have listed responses below.  Please note that many schools did not respond or refused to release their pass rates to us.  As a reference, on the AANP certification exam in 2011, 89.3% of FNP graduates, 80.7% of ANP graduates and 88.3% of GNP graduates passed their respective national certification exams. Interested in information for a school not listed?  Let us know and we will try to get this information for you.

I am wondering what the pass rate is for Maryville University's FNP program. Thank you.

What about Kaplan University's FNP pass rate?

Walden does not give guidance on study guides or information for the test. Took it 3 times before passing and I was an honor roll student. The best source for the Acute Care Gerontology was the study guide found on AACN website although Walden did not recommend this test. I felt that Walden left me on my own to try to pass the test.

Also wondering about SUNY Upstate, SUNY downstate, and NYU

What is Chamberlain College of Nursing pass rate for FNP in the state of Maryland?

Good question - I don't! Let me see if I can find this for you.

Hello! This is a great list, but I am a couple of years too late. Do you have a list of the NP programs and their student enrollment? I've noticed that some schools enroll 6 where others have big classes. I'm looking for a website but cannot find this info!

How is Walden University's pass rate? I am preparing for the exam now.

What about Walden. I have not passed it twice. UGH!
